Vinification

From a selection of Sangiovese grapes harvested by hand between 3 and 19 October, carefully destemmed grapes are vinified in modern stainless steel tanks. This is done with maceration on the skins for an average duration of 15-18 days at a temperature of about 26° Celsius. When alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine begins its malolactic fermentation, after which it is transferred to French oak barrels where it matures for about 12 months. Finally, it enjoys further aging in the bottle for six months.

Colour

Lornano’s Chianti Classico has an intense and concentrated ruby red color.

Nose

In the nose it has a fine and elegant bouquet. This bouquet is characterized by ripe red fruit and earthy notes accompanied by hints of spice.

Taste impression

In the mouth all its freshness comes to the fore, balanced by very well integrated tannins. A stylish Sangiovese with a long and lingering finish.

Culinary advice

Due to its distinctive and refined tannins, the Chianti Classico is ideal for dishes with structure. For example (Italian) meat dishes and dishes in which tomato serves as a basic ingredient. Think of various pastas, meat dishes, lasagna and antipasti.
