Read Hamersma’s great review of Paolo’s new innovative wine:

“Difficult to make, something so refined. In practice, much Valpolicella is rather thin and acidic, or rather coarsely powerful. But here, in Cà dei Maghi, the house of magicians, they manage to conjure up the real Valpolicella. you may not call it that, because here only the Corvina is used, not the otherwise required Valpolicella grapes, but the result is like the Valpolicella of your dreams Almost rosé-like in color, delicate and timid in aroma, a taste of silk and lace. Extremely refined. The glass is floating out. Be quick, because there’s not much of it. 470 bottles. We tasted number 13, it was handwritten on it. Absolutely no accident. Except we regretted not doing so. have bottle 14 to go on.”

Tasting Notes

The Great Hammersma

“Venice is beautiful, and its backyard matching wines are made. Delightful, that tarry red valpolicella, rose-scented, that subtle fruit, those dashing acids…

Hard to make, something so sophisticated. In practice, therefore, much valpolicella is more likely to be thin and acidic, or, on the contrary, unrepentantly powerful.

But here, in Cà dei Maghi, the home of the magicians, they know how to conjure up true Valpolicella. It may not be called that because only grape corvina was used here, not the otherwise required valpolicella grapes, but the result is like the valpolicella of your dreams.

Almost rosé-like in color, delicate and bashful in aroma, a taste of silk and lace. Ragfijn. Floats out the glass.

Be quick, because there is not much of it. 470 bottles. We tasted number 13, it was handwritten on it. Does not bring bad luck by any means. Except that we were sorry that we didn’t have bottle 14 to go on as well.”
