Rosso di Mezzo is a work in progress and reflects both the present and the future of the winery.
This wine is made from the best grapes from the centuries-old vineyards in Passopisciaro, from the four parcels belonging to the winery in Contrada Feudo di Mezzo. The project also looks to the future, as it includes in the near future the production of the young alberello vineyard from ungrafted vines in the same famous Contrada.
A wine where the old pre-phylloxera vines meet the young plants obtained through a massive selection of the oldest vineyards, bringing to life a more authentic fruit and a 100% European vine, without any damage caused by root transplantation.”

The grapes are harvested by hand. Spontaneous fermentation then takes place in open oak barrels (no temperature control) with native yeast. A 24-month refinement in steel follows, followed by 6 months of aging in bottle.
A deep, transparent, ruby red color.
The nose is fragrant, with the intensity of currant and wild blueberry, followed by hints of caper leaf and fresh aromatic herbs.
On the palate, the wine is lively, elegant and silky. The start has aromatic spices and a shade of red-orange, which are followed by a mineral nuance of flint.
Very good match with charcoal-grilled lamb chops, eggplant “alla parmigiana” and roasted white meat dishes.
