Schloss Englar’s Gewürztraminer is characterized by an intense aroma that excites the inspiration, with a complex aroma of roses and cloves, oriental fruits and spices. This wine is fully fermented out with no residual sugars. The wine is spicy and fruity with a delicate freshness. The pink grape skins reflect in the wine, while the seductive aroma is reminiscent of tropical fruits and spices with a subtle oriental touch.
Excellent as an aperitif and with spicy appetizers, goes well with grilled and fried dishes, Asian cuisine and spicy oriental dishes.
There is manual selection in the vineyard in late September, indigenous fermentation with extended maceration for 2 weeks, followed by development on fine lees for another 12 months in tonneaux, light filtration and bottling in April.
The wine has an intense color that ranges from dark yellow to orange and is absolutely dry. The first impression is full-bodied, with complex aromas of honey, spice and exotic fruit. On the palate, the wine has a concentrated and layered presence, with well-balanced acidity and a concentrated finish.
This wine goes well with seafood and fish dishes, pairs excellently with pâté and especially with foie gras. It also goes well with aged cheeses and as a dessert wine.
