With careful manual selection in the vineyard, the story of Schloss Englar’s Pinot Noir Riserva begins. After spontaneous fermentation in open oak barrels for three weeks, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures on fine lees for 18 months in Tonneaux. After another 12 months of aging in bottle, the wine will be bottled in August 2020. The Pinot Noir Riserva reveals itself with a bright ruby color that announces its full-bodied fruity and earthy aromas. Tasting reveals a fine and sensual red wine, characterized by pleasing fullness and silky elegance. Balanced fruit and body with fine tannins make for a harmonious experience. With very good aging potential, this wine only promises to increase in richness with time.

Discover the essence of Schloss Englar wines, where history meets tradition in every bottle.
Originally from Tyrol, the Khuen-Belasi family has a rich aristocratic history spanning centuries across regions such as Lower Austria, Bohemia, Hungary and Croatia. Their lineage dates back to 1111, with the first mention of Egon von Tramin. The family name evolved from his courageous great-grandson, which earned him the title “Kühne” or “The Courageous.”
