First, the grapes of this Rosso Piceno “Trufo” are picked by hand in mid-September. They are then destemmed and pressed. This is followed by a long fermentation with skins in steel vats for 15 days. Followed by délestage and aging in the barriques for 2 years. Finally, the wine is refined in the bottle for 6 months.
Ripawine hair Rosso Piceno has an intense ruby red color with purple hues, dense arches and bale consistency.
The nose is very intense with hints of ripe red fruits such as blackberries, blueberries, currants and jam.
In the mouth it is round, full and warm. The high alcohol content observed. But the tannins present are tempered to a pleasant softness. Finally, it has a good persistence and in the aftertaste there is a clear aromatic resemblance to the olfactory sensations. This has led to high ratings from, for example, Gambero Rosso and Luca Maroni.
The Rosso Piceno “Trufo” can be combined well with, for example, spicy food, roast meat and cheeses.
