Joaquin’s Taurasi Riserva Della Società is a powerful and complex red wine, produced in small quantities of 3,500 bottles, from grape bunches grown at one time.

The 1.2-hectare vineyard plot, located in Paternopoli (AV), consists of 100-year-old (up to 200 years) free-range vines planted on layered and complex calcareous soils with basaltic subsoil at an altitude of about 600 meters.

The peculiarities of this area, Irpinia, including the volcanic nature of the soil, the altitude of the hills and the strong temperature variations, generate red wines with great power, but at the same time with great elegance and longevity.

This is a full-bodied red wine whose grapes, hand-picked in early November, are crushed and spontaneously fermented with only native yeasts in steel containers and old barrels with maceration on the skins for about 25 days. The wine is then aged for a minimum of 36 months in tonneaux of national oak, after which it spends several years in bottle, where it continues its evolution.

Joaquin’s Taurasi is intense ruby red, leaning toward garnet red with orange reflections due to aging.

The nose is distinctive, ethereal, rich and complex, with aromas of earth, brushwood, bark, tobacco and coffee; a constant evolution in the glass that always gives new and different sensations and notes.

Dry, full, balanced, with a persistent finish. This Taurasi has a great structure, with noble and granite-like tannins, perfectly integrated and never aggressive, predicting great potential in terms of aging and evolution over time. Finally, great acidity and freshness counterbalanced by the high alcohol content and strong heat of the wine.

Serving temperature: 18-20° C

Joaquin

Joaquin aims to become an icon, in Italy and the world, of fine artisanal wine with a long evolution. To achieve this goal, Joaquin works with complete respect for the land, using precision winemaking with high technology in the vineyard and not in the cellar, choosing to take the grape varieties that have always been used in this wine region, Fiano and Aglianico, to the next level.
