Toscana Rosso IGT

“Often it is something thought up, something sought after, those combinations, those marriages of convenience. Such a native grape married off to a jettset grape. But here it works fine. Perfect romance, harmoniously attuned to each other, that combination of 70% sangiovese with merlot.

The sunny autumn scents, the red fruit of the earthy Tuscan sangiovese with the soft, full dark ripe fruit and the earthy leather scents of the internationally traveled bordeaux grape merlot.

And all those luxurious-tasting glamor flavors for a bargain price.

A country wine, regional wine, home wine with an international character.”

Vinification

From a selection of the best hand-picked grapes, carefully destemmed grapes are vinified in modern stainless steel tanks. This is done with maceration on the skin and usually takes 25-30 days, at a temperature of about 26° Celsius. Upon completion of fermentation, the wine carries out malolactic fermentation. The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels for a second maturation of about 6 months. Finally, it is aged in bottle for 6 months.

Colour

The Toscana Rosso has a ruby red color.

Odor

In the nose, this wine from Lornano is intense and the aromas are characterized by fruity and floral notes. The main aromas representing the bouquet are blackberries and violets.

Taste impression

In the mouth the Toscana Rosso is well structured and soft. In other words: Wine for the whole meal.

Culinary advice

A real ‘vino del la casa’ (house wine) that can be combined with various dishes such as pastas, risottos & pizzas (almost everything with tomato sauce). The pleasant tannins provide a pleasant structure to eat with.
