The Podio vineyard is first mentioned in 1467, when Count Damiano donated his land to his staff to grow grapes. In return, he demanded that half of the grapes be owned by the castle, but above all he demanded that all grapes from the Podio vineyard be reserved for the count ("salvo et riservato vites Podii Serrae"). The Nebbiolo grapes are picked by hand and then vinification begins. This wine first ages in wood for at least 6 months, followed by another 6 months of bottle aging.

Tenuta Carretta's Langhe Nebbiolo Podio has an intense ruby red color.

The "Podio" reveals hints of dry flowers, fruit and chocolate.

This wine is elegant and balanced, with soft tannins. The taste is round and full of dark fruits such as blackberries and currants.

Serving temperature: 16-18°C
