Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico DOC

 9,95

“Family business since 1905. Specialized in the Verdicchio grape. Can you taste. Doesn’t stay on the surface just to quench the quick thirst, but goes into the depths and finds almonds, apricot and sees minerals glistening on the bottom. Nice firmness, fine bitters and ending in a kind of pleasant, almost loose dryness. Classic, modern classico.”

Vinification

The Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi from Finocchi Viticoltori has the best “terroirs” of an already privileged region. The resulting wines are an interpretation of this terroir. First, the Verdicchio grapes undergo a soft pressing. The must then sinks under cold temperatures. Finally, the fermentation with specially selected yeasts follows. This is done at controlled temperatures.

Colour

The wine has a straw yellow color with green reflections.

Odor

First of all, this Verdicchio exudes an intense and elegant mineral undertone. After swirling the wine in the glass, intense floral notes are released. For example, tones of yellow and white flowers such as the hawthorn.

Taste impression

First, the wine has a soft attack, without sugar residues. It is characterized by the acidic component. Then the aromas linger in the mouth for a long time. With mineral and floral references. Above all, the aftertaste is nicely finished with the typical Italian bitter.

Culinary advice

The Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi goes well with food. For example with starters, fish dishes, white meat or fresh cheeses. It can also be drunk as an aperitif. Finally, Maurizio and Marco (the winemakers) advised us the following:

In the Marches, rabbit in porchetta or chicken in potacchio are a typical and also delicious combination.
