Cà Dei Maghi

Cà Dei Maghi

About the winery

Cà Dei Maghi in Valpolicella is an old family business with an enchanting name that means "house of magic" in Italian. Cà Dei Maghi is located on a picturesque hill in the village of Fumane in Valpolicella. Led by Paolo Creazzi, the winery produces mostly famous red wines, including Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone. Noteworthy, however, is also the production of white wines, a rarity in Valpolicella, such as Barabao from the Garganega grape and Camparsi from the Trebbiano. Paolo, in his own unique way, shapes these wines by finding a harmony between tradition and innovation. The results are his unique, highly regarded Valpolicellas, Ripasso's and Amarone's, characterized by their juiciness and clarity. With Paolo, the essence of the grapes is central.

NEGRAR

History

In the 19th century, the Fasoli Fedrigo family started their wine business in Negrar. Over a hundred years later, in the 1950s, Grandma Luigina and Grandpa Fernando decided to start producing wine at Cà Dei Maghi, where the "Rama" was also born, which today serves as their agriturismo. Since then Mari, Giovanna, Paolo and Ivana have continued the family's wine and gastronomic tradition.

OUR TERRITORY

Valpolicella

Cà dei Maghi is a charming farmhouse located in the heart of the lush hills of Valpolicella, amidst the vineyards near the center of Fumane.

Fumane is the highest appellation in Valpolicella Classico. The soil of this region consists mainly of limestone, which favors the production of fresh and elegant wines, characteristic of their style within Valpolicella.

Over the years, Cà Dei Maghi has added more vineyards to its exciting history, always with the idea in mind that the products must remain authentic: "Our wine is born here, in our own territory." An example is the Canova Rosso, a red wine made from grapes from these new vineyards, where the vines are less than 15 years old.

MAGIE

The goat

Currently, Cà Dei Maghi is led by Paolo Creazzi, one of the most talented new-generation winemakers we have encountered. His extraordinary sense of detail is reflected in every aspect of his winery, which is completely infused with the theme of magic. This enchanting craftsmanship and attention to detail translates beautifully into his wines. Paolo's vineyards are also enchanting; perched high on the hills away from civilization. This natural environment teems with life, with hares, foxes, grasshoppers, birds and even a mysterious black goat that loves to eat grapes. Paolo keeps wondering where this enchanting visitor came from....

HIS PHILOSOPHY

Paolo Creazzi

"Diversity is what I look for when I produce wine and from the beginning I have been lucky enough to find very productive vineyards, both very closed and very different from each other. The great grape varieties have given me the opportunity to give the classic wines of Valpolicella a precise identity and to experiment something new every year with our IGT wines, looking for that new flavor that can make the difference. Every choice is well thought out and implies absolute dedication to detail: We can't ignore it."
