Ripawine

About the winery

It is a great honor for us to be the only foreign buyer to offer wine from Ripawine. Ripawine was founded as a subsidiary of a large winery located in Ripatransone, in the Marches (Le Marche). The owners founded Ripawine because of their passion for producing exclusive wines on a small scale. From the 105 hectares of vineyards owned by the parent company, only the best grapes are specially selected and hand-picked to realize their wines. Only 15,000 bottles are produced annually. These have so far been sold only within Italy. That we can offer Ripawine's wine is a direct result of a special acquaintance and relationship. Ripawine makes Offida wines from the Marches such as the Offida Rosso, Offida Pecorino & Offida Passerina. These wines are characterized by their long finish and 'sophistication'.

LA FAMILIA

About Ripawine

The owners of Ripawine come from farming families where the tradition and knowledge of cultivating vineyards is passed down from generation to generation. For all of them, caring for the vineyard is an activity shared with the whole family: Both pruning and cleaning the vineyard and the crucial moment of harvest. Some of them, like Maurizio, have as their primary task taking care of the vineyards. Others, in addition to working in the vineyards, have other jobs and therefore mainly work in the vineyards in their free time. The selection of the best grapes and the entire production process from harvest to bottled wine is monitored by the oenologist Sandro (photo). Every year he tries to improve the quality of the wines with care and passion, while remaining faithful to the farming traditions from which they originate.

AUTHENTIC

The vineyards

Ripawine currently has 105 hectares of vineyards, located at altitudes ranging from 200 to 400 meters above sea level. The vineyards are divided into estates; each with a precise profile taking into account soil, exposure and microclimate. Given the vastness of the vineyards and different areas, the profiles vary considerably from estate to estate, giving the wine a precious mosaic of nuances. Ripawine's goal is to recover and enhance the characteristics of local grape varieties based on these differences. Ripawine also wants to convey the authentic power of the Picenian land to its wines.

The territory of Ripatransone produces DOC wines such as Falerio dei Colli Ascolani, Rosso Piceno, Rosso Piceno Superiore, and DOCG Offida wines (Rosso, Passerina and Pecorino).

RIPATRANSONE

Tradition & territory

Known as the Belvedere del Piceno, Ripatransone offers unparalleled views stretching from the Gran Sasso to the Sibillini Mountains, from Conero to Gargano, to the Dalmatian coast.

The center looks medieval, with Renaissance and Baroque buildings, despite noble palaces from the early and late 18th centuries. These are mainly visible along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, the main axis that crosses the city from south to north. In the most popular neighborhoods there are numerous streets and alleys, including the one with the guinness world record of the narrowest alley in Italy: 43 centimeters. The gastronomy is genuine and tasty: The typical dish of ciavarro consists of legumes and grains.
