L’Urlo I.G.T.

L’Urlo by Urlari is a wine of exceptional quality made from 100% Merlot grapes. The name, meaning “the scream,” rhymes somewhat with “Merlot” and is also derived from the name of the winery itself, Urlari, meaning “scream. The grapes are carefully picked by hand and then placed on a conveyor belt that uses gravity to transport them to the destemmer, where leaves and stems are removed. The grapes are then gently crushed via a filtering machine to release the juice before it is poured into conical stainless steel tanks. Temperature-controlled fermentation begins and the juice is pumped over the grapes every 6 hours. After 2 weeks, the grapes are gently pressed, then the wine is aged for 15 months in 100% new French oak barrels, followed by another 12 months in bottle. L’Urlo has a deep red color and in the nose offers a wonderful blend of aromas of black fruits and mushrooms. The wine is full-bodied, enveloped in elegant tannins and has a clean finish.
