The Ritasso, named after the stream of the same name that meanders through the enchanting natural reserve “Monteruufoli-Caselli,” is a tribute to the majestic charm of its surroundings, located near the vineyards of Urlari. This stream, one of the most charming in the region, reflects the natural splendor and abundance of its surroundings. In the creation of the Ritasso, the best fruit is first carefully harvested by hand. Then the grapes undergo a careful process, where they are led by gravity to the de-stemmer to avoid damaging the skins. After removing leaves and stems, the grapes proceed to a filtering machine, which gently breaks the skin to release the juice. The resulting juice fills a conical stainless steel tank, where the temperature-controlled fermentation process begins. During this time, the juice is regularly pumped over the grapes, followed by gentle pressing after two weeks. The wine then ages for 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by another 12 months in bottle. The Ritasso reveals a rich and versatile dark color that reflects the depth of its character. Upon approaching the wine, the senses are indulged with lush aromas of chocolate and black fruit, which form a harmonious whole. Urlari’s Ritasso is an expression of fullness and elegance, with soft textures, subtle acidity and balanced tannins. It is a true example of finesse and refinement, capturing the soul of nature in every sip. Serving temperature: 16-18° C
