Col di Lamo’s Brunello di Montalcino “Diletta” owes its name to the daughter of the estate’s owner and is produced only in the best vintages. The grapes come from 2 hectares of vineyards in the highest part of the Col di Lamo estate, about 300 meters above sea level. Vinification is done with indigenous yeasts obtained from the same grapes of the vineyard. These yeasts are produced just days before harvest to start fermentation and inoculate the entire tank. Both harvesting and grape selection are done by hand. After vinification, the wine is transferred to a 50-hl Slavonian oak barrel and aged there for more than 36 months. The wine is then refined in bottle for about 6 months. Production of “Diletta” is very limited: only 6,600 bottles per year. Col di Lamo’s Diletta has an intense ruby red color with slight garnet reflections. In the nose, there are hints of small ripe red fruits accompanied by elegant notes of balsamic and brushwood. The flavor is long, intense and subtly tannic. Serving temperature: 16-18°C
